We came up with the idea of this newsletter as we felt
that the Sindhi community in Singapore is not really as closely knit or
proud of themselves as we could or should be. Maybe it's because we have no
real homeland ... nor common platform (besides Sindhu House), and the only
current form of mass communication is the Singapore Sindhi Association (SSA)
circular which does not really touch on the more fun side of life amongst
Sindhis.
In some small and (hopefully) significant way, we hope that
this newsletter will build a sense of belonging and pride in the Sindhi
community in Singapore, especially among the youth - who know little about
their culture and hence maybe drifting away, and also among the older
generation by focusing on the more serious aspects of Sindhi-ness. We
sincerely hope that the community support us in this effort.
Our website's content is in an infant stage and is being
develop gradually. Very soon, it will be filled with useful content and
become much more appealing in appearance, and therefore of value to the
community.
